Artist & Writer

Mei Yuk originally came to the UK from Hong Kong and now lives and works in Manchester. She studied theology, feminism and art in Hong Kong, The Hague and London. She received a Foundation Diploma from Wimbledon School of Art and a MA from London Guildhall University. She is a visual artist, designer and writer.  Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. In addition, she has had and art poetry book published in the UK. She is one of the founding members of CIWA(Centre for International Women Artists). She has worked on a wide range of projects with community groups and organisations, including Travelling Heritage Bureau, Manchester Art Gallery, Whitworth Art Gallery, HOME, PS Mirabel, Manchester International Festival, ArtReach, Community Arts North West, Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, Manchester Cathedral, University of Manchester, MMU, Zellij Arts, The People's History Museum, Manchester Museum, Yellow Earth Theatre, Wai Yin Society, Manchester International Women's Festival, Heatons Arts Trail, Stockport Art Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and London Chinatown Oral History Project.
