Mei Yuk originally came to the UK from Hong Kong and now lives and works in Manchester. She studied theology, feminism and art in Hong Kong, The Hague and London. She received a Foundation Diploma from Wimbledon School of Art and a MA from London Guildhall University. She is a visual artist, designer and writer. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. In addition, she has had and art poetry book published in the UK. She has worked on a wide range of projects with community groups and organisations, including Manchester Cathedral, Manchester International Women's Festival, Heatons Arts Trail, Stockport Art Gallery, Wai Yin Society, Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, Manchester Art Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Manchester International Festival, The People’s History Museum, Manchester Museum, London Chinatown Oral History Project and Manchester Metropolitan University.
